Law firm guides energy company in geothermal investment

Bristol-based law firm, Osborne Clarke has provided legal counsel to Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners S.C.Sp (FEIP) in an investment in 85 Degrees Renewables, a geothermal energy company.
This investment aims to support 85 Degrees in financing a 61.8 MW geothermal energy project in South Holland, Netherlands, aligning with the company’s objective to deploy 1 GW of geothermal capacity across the country.
The transaction advisory team from Osborne Clarke included Chris Yeo and Hannah Stevens in the UK (both in Corporate), along with Marie-Louise Weeda (Corporate) and Charlie van der Star (Real Estate and Infrastructure) in the Netherlands.
This investment builds on the initial joint venture between FEIP and 85 Degrees in geothermal energy projects in the Netherlands, with the Osborne Clarke team providing comprehensive legal support across the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany during the initial transaction in October 2021.
