Spirax-Sarco Engineering recruits CFO

Louise Burdett

Spirax-Sarco Engineering has recruited Louisa Burdett from FTSE 100 company Croda International to be its chief financial officer.

She fills the vacancy created at the Cheltenham engineering giant by the promotion of Nimesh Patel to chief executive.

Patel said: “Her insights, borne off a long and successful career in some of the UK’s leading industrial companies, as well as her strong values, will bring further strength and depth to the group.”

Burdett will start work next July, with director of group finance Phil Scott filling in as interim CFO for six months. It is a quick return to the South West for Burdett, who only joined Croda in January after four years with Meggitt in Bournemouth.

Jamie Pike, chair of Spirax-Sarco Engineering, said: “Louisa has an exceptional track record in leading finance for UK listed companies, together with related non-executive and sector experience that will be invaluable to the board and executive leadership team as we progress on our journey towards creating sustainable value for all our stakeholders.”
