Wiltshire mansion house is sold out of administration

An 18th Century mansion house which was being used as serviced offices has been sold out of administration.

Hartham Park in Wiltshire has been sold by joint agents Christie & Co and Strutt & Parker for an undisclosed sum.

The property near Corsham had a guide price of £8m.

The property was sold on behalf of joint administrators, Ben Wiles and Phil Dakin of Kroll Advisory Limited.

Set in 50 acres, the Grade II listed property is currently used as serviced office accommodation.

The various buildings include the mansion house, coach house and stables, and modern office and reception building.

The property offers serviced office accommodation in up to 70 individual office units, with seven meeting rooms and a café.

The property has been purchased by The Lucent Group, which intends to continue with the serviced office business.

Ed Bellfield, regional director at Christie & Co, handled the sale.

He said: “We are delighted to complete the sale of Hartham Park as it is rare that a property of this magnitude comes to the open market.

“Hartham Park is a landmark property which unsurprisingly attracted considerable buyer interest when launched to the market, generating bids from both domestic and international property investors.

“The sale of the house presents the start of a new chapter in Hartham Park’s history.”

Oliver Custance-Baker, head of Strutt & Parker’s Country House department, said: “The sale of Hartham Park concludes a period of intense marketing with our joint agents, targeting both buyers acting in a private and personal capacity as well as recognised commercial investors.

“The sale is a fantastic result for our client, and also secures the future of Hartham Park as one of Wiltshire’s most extensive country houses.

“The use of this country’s prominent houses beyond private residential ownership is certainly apparent, and sellers of similar properties should take confidence from the appetite from active buyers.”
