Dorset financial adviser closed down by FCA

A Dorset financial services and advisory firm has had its authorisation to trade removed by the Financial Conduct Authority.

The FCA said KBFS failed to engage with them in an open and cooperative way.

KBFS also failed to pay redress awarded to former members of the British Steel Pension Scheme (BSPS) by the Financial Ombudsman Service. Our

The organisation said that if any individuals were advised by KBFS or its director, Kathryn Brown, to transfer out of the BSPS, or have an existing complaint about KBFS they should make a claim with the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

Individuals do not need a claims management company or a solicitor to make a claim with the FSCS. It is and independent organisation and its service is free to use.

People will keep 100 per cent of the compensation they are owed when they claim directly with them.

KBFS customers can also discuss their investments with the investment provider or platform.

People should also consider speaking to a new financial adviser or get free and impartial guidance from MoneyHelper.
