Popular Bristol businessman dies suddenly at age of 74

The founder of a Bristol printing business has died at the age of 74.

Martin Jackson, founder and managing director of Kingfisher Labels, has died suddenly.

Lancashire-born Mr Jackson established Kingfisher Labels In 1996 and grew the company into a multimillion-pound turnover operation.

Mr Jackson was originally from Blackburn and moved to Bristol in the 1970s.

He joined AJ Bingley, making paper bags, before starting up his own business.

Kingfisher Labels makes labels for the medical industry and many well-known food and drink brands in most major supermarket stores.

In a statement announcing the news on Linkedin, Kingfisher Labels wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the sudden passing of our friend and managing director, Martin Jackson.

“This news comes as a shock to all of us, and we are deeply saddened by the loss of such a dedicated and respected individual.

“Martin was not only a valued leader within our company but also a dear friend to many of us.

“He played a crucial role in shaping our company’s vision and guiding us to success. His passion, dedication, and expertise have left a lasting impact on our organisation and the relationships we have built with our customers.

“During this difficult time, we ask for your understanding and patience as we navigate this loss and work to ensure the continuity of our operations.

“We are committed to upholding the high standards of service and quality that Martin instilled in our company, and we will strive to honour his legacy in everything we do going forward.”

Martin Jackson ran Kingfisher Labels with his son Karl and his wife Jackie along with sales director Andy Watts who joined the business in 2013.
