Two senior additions to accountancy firm’s Taunton HQ

South West-based accountancy firm Albert Goodman has welcomed two new directors to its Taunton headquarters, with Abi Kingsbury and Mark Thompson joining the business.

A chartered accountant and tax advisor, Kingsbury, who arrives at Albert Goodman after eight years with one of the ten largest accountancy firms in the UK , joins as a director in the firm’s Farms and Estates team at a time when inheritance tax increases and succession planning are high on the agenda for many rural businesses across the country.

Also a chartered accountant and tax advisor, Thompson joins as a director from operating in Albert Goodman’s Business Services team. Having previously worked as an advisor across a variety of sectors, he has since specialised in supporting property and construction businesses, from family-owned companies through to large joint ventures and group structures.

The duo joins Albert Goodman at a time of significant growth. The firm reported an annual turnover of £21.4m last year – up 17% on the year before.

Iain McVicar at Albert Goodman said: “I’m pleased to welcome Abi and Mark to Albert Goodman and the Taunton team. Both were stand-out candidates, who will bring a huge amount of experience, insights and fresh thinking to the Farms & Estates and Business Services teams. We’re delighted to have them onboard as we continue to build on the momentum of a very successful 2024.”

Albert Goodman also has offices in Bristol, Yeovil and Weymouth.
