Seventy jobs have been saved after a cleaning firm was bought out of administration.

Bristol firm Proficient Cleaning has been bought by commercial cleaners Ecoserv Group.

London based Ecoserv bought the business and some of its assets just 48 hours after it went into administration.

Under the terms of the deal all 70 of Proficient Cleaning’s staff will be transferred to the new owners.

Jean-Henri Beukes, chief executive of Ecoserv Fm Group, said: “Proficient Cleaning has longstanding experience and an established presence within the Bristol area, so this acquisition will strengthen our existing operation within the South West of England.

“We look forward to our new colleagues joining the business and working closely with the company’s customers to best meet their cleaning needs.”

Simon Carvill-Biggs, partner at FRP and joint administrator of Proficient Cleaning, said: “My primary focus on appointment was to try and secure the ongoing employment for the 70 staff and I am very pleased that we achieved that outcome, ensuring also that continuity of service remained for the clients. We wish the employees and business all the very best for the future. ”

Proficient Cleaning started trading 30 years ago and worked with a variety of customers  including offices, schools and health centres.
