Mercure Paignton

A brand new four-star hotel has opened for business in the seaside resort of Paignton.

Mercure Paignton Hotel is situated in a prime location on the seafront with stunning views of the coast, promenade, pier and beach.

The art deco inspired hotel has 161 bedrooms, a glass fronted restaurant and a two-tier, Mediterranean style terrace.

The hotel is owned by Singapore-based Fragrance Group, franchised by the Accor group and operated by RBH Hospitality.

Martin Rogers, managing director of the Global Hotels and Leisure Consultancy, which acts on behalf of Fragrance Group, said: “We are delighted to be opening this new 161-bedroom hotel in partnership with Accor and RBH. Our thanks go to Brady Construction in particular. We wish Jason Parry and his team every success.”

Jason Parry, general manager for Mercure Paignton, said: “The Mercure Paignton Hotel is a hugely exciting project and one which promises a new age of prosperity for the area.

“Not only do we expect the hotel to appeal to leisure visitors from across the UK, we look forward to welcoming local people to our new restaurant and bar to sample regional food and beverages such as freshly caught Brixham fish, award winning Salcombe gin or traditional real ale from Torbay Gin and Bays Brewery.

“Local relationships and partnerships are a huge priority for us, with 50 percent of our beverages from local suppliers, and art displayed in our rooms and public areas created by the region’s artists. The hotel definitely has a local flavour and feel.”

Jason added: “The Mercure Paignton Hotel will offer guests an experience like no other on the Riviera, providing the highest level of comfort, service and quality, while evoking memories of nostalgic beach holidays and inspiring an eagerness for new experiences and adventures.”
