Private equity backed OCU Group to acquire engineering firm

Private equity-backed OCU Group has agreed to buy a group of companies whose clients include South West Water, Thames Water, Wessex Water and Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water.

The Northavon Group comprises Northavon Group Ltd, Northavon Holdings Ltd, Northavon Water Services Ltd, Hydrovein Ltd and Multivein Ltd, along with their respective subsidiaries.

Somerset-based Northavon primarily operates in the water sector in the South of England and South Wales. It provides a range of value-add services to its clients including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civils design, construction and installation of clean and wastewater treatment facilities and sewage pumping stations, together with maintenance services. It also has divisions focusing on highways and groundworks.

The acquisition will support Stockport-based OCU’s growth across the water and wastewater sector as the group continues to expand in water and energy-related opportunities. The deal will also give OCU a stronger regional presence across the South West.

As part of the acquisition arrangements, Northavon will become known as OCU Northavon.
