Work gets underway at new North Somerset development

Construction has started on a new residential development in Nailsea.

Acorn Property Group is delivering a new development of twenty-four homes in the North Somerset town.

There will be 17 two, three and four-bedroom open market houses along with seven properties allocated for affordable housing.

Each new home will be built to a high-quality specification, with energy efficiency at the forefront of the design.

Features include superior insulation, PV panels and electric car charging infrastructure.

“We’re always striving to take a bespoke approach to each of our developments and to create homes that fit well within their immediate surroundings. Bucklands Place is no exception and has a distinct character that will fit perfectly with the surroundings,” said Robin Squire, regional managing director of Acorn’s Bristol Region.

“The development is within easy reach of Nailsea’s thriving town centre and the surrounding countryside, with easy commuting links to Bristol, and we hope the combination and variety of homes available here will help to foster a diverse community.”

Acorn is developing Bucklands Place in partnership with Barwood Capital, which acquired the site in July 2022 through its Residential Platform.

“Our focus is to help bring forward high quality residential developments in the UK regions and given Nailsea’s popularity as a commuter town, together with the bespoke approach that Acorn has taken with this development, Bucklands Place is likely to see strong demand when the homes are available for sale,” said Steve Chambers, director and head of residential investment at Barwood Capital.

The new homes are due to be launched for sale later this year and ready starting from spring 2024.

Acorn Property Group is an independent, South West-focused housebuilder. Its previous developments in the area also include Marine Place, a collection of nine homes set within the cliff face on Clevedon seafront, plus the Brackenwood and St Joseph’s Gardens developments in Portishead.

Its recent projects in Bristol include Brandon Yard and Alliance House, together with the award-winning Brooks Dye Works neighbourhood in St Werburghs. New homes are also coming soon to the village of Wrington, Somerset.

Barwood Capital invests responsibly in a range of real estate opportunities in the UK regions, including commercial and residential projects.

The Barwood Residential Investment Platform (BRIP) provides equity to house builders and property developers. BRIP seeks long term relationships with experienced developers and typically targets schemes of five-20 open market units in attractive locations with demonstrable demand.

Barwood has  almost 450 homes at varying stages of construction across the UK regions.
