Furniture firm welcomes trio of retail heavyweights to senior team
The Cotswold Company has welcomed on board a trio of retail heavyweights who have held senior roles in major companies including Jimmy Choo and The White Company.
Joining the furniture and homewares brand are chairman Jim Sharp, Matt Pollington as chief marketing officer, and Mike Ellis as director of merchandising.
Hugely influential in tech and retail sectors alike, Sharp built his career at Schroeder’s and Jimmy Choo, and has chaired several high-growth digital brand-led retailers such as Seraphine, Feelunique, In The Style and YouGarden.
Using this experience, he will work closely with CEO Ralph Tucker and investors to build on the significant growth over the last five years and deliver on the brand’s future growth plans.
Former Made.com global director of customer and marketing Matt Pollington joins The Cotswold Company board as chief marketing officer.
He said: “I am thrilled to be joining The Cotswold Company to help customers bring to life the vision of their home. In a crowded market, I’m looking forward to shining a light on the brand’s uncompromising quality and service, placing them front of mind for homewares inspired by the rhythm of life and nature.”
Having previously held senior merchandising roles in Sainsbury’s and The White Company, Ellis joins The Cotswold Company team to spearhead the merchandising team.
He said: “I’m excited to be joining one of the country’s most well-loved brands, being part of the company’s mission to build furniture that lasts through sustainable practices is a fantastic opportunity to really make a difference.”
Ralph Tucker, CEO added: “We’re delighted to have Jim, Matt, and Mike on board, all three are fantastic additions to our leadership team, they bring a wealth of experience from across the retail industry and truly understand how to continue to drive the Cotswold Company forward. The team are joining at a time of growth in our company and we’re really looking forward to seeing their vision for the brand.”
The Cotswold Company’s first shop opened 25 years ago at Bourton-on-the-Water in the heart of the Cotswolds.
