Exeter lawyers advise on ‘pivotal’ cross-border AI transaction

Exeter-based lawyers from national law firm Foot Anstey have advised Achilles, a global leader in supply chain risk and performance management, on its acquisition of InfoControl, a specialist artificial intelligence and contractor management company, based in Latin America.

The firm said the deal exemplifies Foot Anstey’s strength in cross-border M&A transactions and its growing presence in the tech, AI and data sectors.

The acquisition marks a significant step forward in Achilles’ commitment to the responsible use of technology and data to deliver trusted, intelligent solutions for supply chain management and compliance.

The Exeter-based team was led by Foot Anstey principal director Emma Clayton, with support from associates Megan Berry and Kirsty Poulton. The team worked closely with international law firm Uría Menéndez, to provide seamless cross-border legal counsel throughout the process.

InfoControl brings advanced AI expertise in reading, interpreting, and extracting narrative data from complex documentation, to deliver highly efficient and accurate supply chain data capture and non-financial reporting.

The move will strengthen Achilles’ AI capabilities, enhance contractor management offerings and unlock new opportunities in data extraction, analysis, and reporting for customers worldwide.

Clayton said: “It’s been a pleasure working alongside Achilles to navigate the complexities of a multi-jurisdictional deal. This acquisition not only strengthens Achilles’ offering but also reflects the growing importance of responsible AI in global supply chain innovation.”

Paul Stanley, CEO of Achilles, said: “This acquisition builds on a strong foundation of collaboration, representing a big step forward in Achilles’ goal to use smart, responsible technology to make supply chains more trustworthy, accurate and efficient. We are grateful for Emma and the team’s clear and commercial advice throughout the transaction.”
