Broadcast giant acquires new animation series by Bristol production firm

Sky has acquired and premiered The Musical World of Mister Zoink, a preschool animation series created and produced by Bristol-based A Productions.

Available on Sky Kids and Now TV in the UK, the series directed by Mark Taylor and co-written by Mark with Ashley Slater explores music and rhythm in a playful and colourful manner.

Featuring an upbeat score composed by Ashley Slater, the series introduces pre-schoolers to various musical sounds through animated characters like Hoot, Bops, and The Octos, who join Mister Zoink in a series of lively musical adventures.

Mark Taylor, joint managing director at A Productions said: “The world of Mister Zoink is a colourful, characterful and imaginative place where we have fun with sound. We are delighted that Sky has launched this show in the UK on Sky Kids so a new young audience can enjoy the musical adventures of this wonderful cast of characters.

“The series was created and produced by A Productions in our Bristol studio and following investment from Cyber Group, our plan is to grow our slate of original IP from the studio.”
