Developer revealed for Silverstone museum scheme

Shaylor Group, the West Midlands-based construction firm, has landed the contract to build the motor racing musueum at Silverstone in Northamptonshire.

According to reports in Construction Enquirer, Shaylor’s £15.5m bid beat off four rivals to claim the prize.

Silverstone has received lottery cash to turn a former World War II hangar into a museum, which will display dozens of Formula 1 cars and racing bikes alonside personal items from drivers and riders.

The centre is due to open in 2019 and will be designed by Cube Design.
