Housing plan submitted for “sustainable” business park

Housebuilding group Bloor Homes will deliver 170 new homes on Blythe Valley Park, near Junction 4 of the M42.

An application is being submitted detailing the development plans for the houses, which make up the first phase of 750 homes granted outline consent in 2017.

Bloor Homes were brought in by property company IM Properties (IMP), and the two have worked with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to prepare the plans.

IMP say the scheme will create a “sustainable community and one of the first truly mixed-use schemes in the Midlands”. The business park will include commercial, leisure and residential uses. Bloor Homes’s proposal includes a mix of 1,2,3 and 4-bedroom homes, which will be surrounded by the 122 acres of country park. It hopes to start construction work on the first homes in autumn this year.

Jonathan Dyke from IMP’s strategic land division, IM Land said: “We have worked long and hard on our vision to deliver much needed homes in Solihull and we believe Bloor Homes will create the right mix and quality of homes required for younger families, first time buyers and those people wanting to be located near to their work or as part of a thriving new sustainable community.”

Paul Degg, regional managing director of Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “The vision for Blythe Valley Park is to create a high quality and attractive new neighbourhood with a village character and a strong sense of community, and we are confident our proposals will achieve this.”
