Engineering company rescued out of administration

Wolverhampton-based engineering company G.E. Starr has been sold out of administration.
With nearly 50 years of experience, G.E. Starr specialises in metal forming, laser work, assemblies, toolmaking, and prototype projects for the automotive sector, serving clients such as Aston Martin, Morgan, and Lotus.
It’s faced challenging trading conditions in recent years, as well as experiencing delays with some orders creating difficulties in managing cash flow and debt.
Joint administrators Craig Povey and Gareth Prince of Begbies Traynor facilitated the sale to GE Starr Engineering, which was completed on June 6.
Povey said: “As with many businesses within the automotive sector, it has faced numerous economic challenges. We are pleased that, following the completion of the sale, the business has been able to re-employ the majority of its employees. This positive outcome under difficult circumstances will ensure the continuity of the company’s important role within its customers’ supply chain.”
