Telemarketing firm uses BSPA move to spearhead growth

A BIRMINGHAM-based marketing firm is planning to double in size and grow its turnover to £1m by 2014.
Maverick Telemarketing said its growth rate was significant and in the last six months it had seen a 20% increase in turnover.
The company, which includes clients such as IBM and Cisco, is currently rolling out a pan-European lead management platform in conjunction with one of the world’s largest software companies for a global IT distributor.
Maverick said it attributed much of its growth to its relocation from Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter to Birmingham Science Park Aston.
The company moved to the park in March this year and since then it said turnover had grown to £500,000.
Chris Massey, sales director at the firm, said: “Being located at the science park is a significant differentiator for our clients, allowing them to come into an environment rich in technological innovation that complements our business. It also gives us the opportunity to work alongside like-minded people whilst benefitting from the latest facilities and premier business location.
“Being able to go for an informal coffee with companies located just next door has already proven to be hugely beneficial and this networking has significantly contributed to the rise in our annual turnover. The fact that we have seen such an increase in so little time is really encouraging and I can see no reason why Maverick won’t continue to grow.”
Matthew Hidderley, business development manager at BSPA, said: “Through our services and the environment that we create, we can make a positive contribution to the success of businesses like Maverick Telemarketing. The team have already used the facilities at the park to their full advantage and have consequently seen a growth in turnover in just a matter of months.”
