Employment specialist joins Irwin Mitchell
THE Birmingham office of Irwin Mitchell has appointed associate Omer Simjee to its employment team. Joining from Pinsent Masons in Birmingham, Mr Simjee is an employment lawyer experienced in advising a range of companies including multi-national organisations, financial institutions, IT and outsourcing companies and manufacturing businesses. He is also an experienced litigator with a track record of success defending claims in employment tribunals and has particularly expertise in TUPE, redundancies, outsourcing and managing senior executive exits. Mr Simjee is also a business immigration specialist who is experienced in bringing executives into the UK and in assisting corporate clients to avoid illegal working. New associate at Browne Jacobson
BROWNE Jacobson has appointed associate Richard Freeth to its education team based in Birmingham. Mr Freeth has more than 10 years of experience advising schools, academies and local authorities on a range of legal issues including admissions, exclusions, special educational needs, safeguarding and school reorganisation. Browne Jacobson’s clients include the Girl’s Day School Trust, the General Teaching Council for England, Greenwood Academies Trust and Oasis Community Learning.
Graduates joins Lodders
STRATFORD-upon-Avon firm Lodders Solicitors has taken on two new graduate trainees Sophie Horvat, 24, from Solihull, is a graduate of Nottingham University and the College of Law in Birmingham and is also a former part-time model. Hannah Taylor is a law graduate of Birmingham University who completed her Legal Practice Course also at the College of Law, Birmingham. For the last five years, she has been a probate and litigation assistant based in Malvern.
