Premier Mobile eyes Midlands expansion

CORPORATE telecommunications provider, Premier Mobile has appointed Ian Brotherston as its non-executive chairman.

Mr Brotherston, 49, from Stratford-upon-Avon has held senior positions at AT&T ISTEL, Vodafone, AOL and BT. Most recently he was chairman and CEO at DailyMotion, the French video-based social media site.

His appointment comes as Premier Mobile seeks to build on a positive 2009, which saw 20% growth and turnover hitting just under £5 million. The 35-strong company says it has further plans for expansion in 2010 including a new Midlands presence.

Premier Mobile managing director Jason Yeomans said Mr Brotherston was brought in for his experience in acquiring, growing and diversifying busineses. He said: “Since 2006 our business has grown organically by over 300% and we have proved our unique managed service mobile and fixed line offering to businesses.

“We have ambitious plans to grow and diversify. We are keen to look at possible acquisitions in the technology and telecoms sector and Ian will be key to helping us develop this strategy moving forward.”

Ian Brotherston said: “The telecommunications industry, whilst being one of the most profitable, is also one of the most rapidly changing and competitive industries and it is vital that Premier Mobile remains at the forefront. By developing and implementing an ambitious and proactive strategy which includes acquisition, expansion and diversification, I am confident that Premier Mobile will go from strength to strength.”
