Capital firm swoops on Staffordshire care company

STAFFORDSHIRE home care business Springbank Community Care has been acquired by London outfit City and County Healthcare Group in an undisclosed deal.

The acquisition of Burslem-based Springbank expands the group’s presence in the West Midlands where it already runs its ‘Custom Care’ operation in Birmingham.

The deal was backed by London-based ‘buy and build’ specialist Sovereign Capital.

It was founded in 1995 and provides around 2,800 hours of care per week, employing around 100 staff.

Craig Rushton, group chief executive of City and County, said: “We are delighted to welcome Springbank Community Care into our organisation.

“Its location, and more importantly, its ethos of providing a quality service make it an excellent and complementary addition to the group.”

North West law firm SAS Daniels advised Springbank on the sale while City and County London solicitors Marriott Harrison.
