Golley Slater recruits former Aston Martin man

PR agency Golley Slater has secured the services of Aston Martin’s former chief press officer to head up its Skoda UK account.

Pietro Panarisi will also have responsibility for helping to coordinate the Birmingham agency’s strategic partnerships within the automotive sector.

Prior to taking up his new position, Mr Panarisi, 32, spent five years with Aston Martin where he was responsible for new vehicle launches in the UK.

He left the sports car firm to oversee international PR activity for JCB’s World Landspeed Record attempt in 2006.

Most recently, he was account director at London-based consumer agency, PagetBaker, where he led PR programmes for several UK and international clients including ABSOLUT vodka.

Golley Slater has recently expanded its PR division, making significant investments in both new people and resources to improve the agency’s offering.

Commenting on the appointment, Tim Gearey, Golley Slater’s PR managing director, said:  “Pietro is a key appointment for us and a significant boost to our automotive team.  He brings a wealth of industry experience and expertise, and we’ll be looking to develop our client portfolio in this sector.

“We’ve had a very strong performance over the last 12 months, expanding our PR division and making significant investments in both new people and resources to improve the agency’s offering.”
