Environment right for ALcontrol disposal
ENVIRONMENTAL and food testing firm ALcontrol has sold its On-Site Services division to Shield Group.
The deal sees its Newcastle-under-Lyme operation, as well as those in Rotherham and East Kilbride, sold to Shield Group which is part of Netherlands-based ACTA.
Simon Gibbs, chief executive at ALcontrol, said: “This deal is of significant importance to ALcontrol as we position ourselves to move the business forward.
“Our On-Site Services function specialises in providing high quality and cost-effective health, safety and environmental monitoring and management solutions and will enhance ACTA’s offering in the UK.”
ACTA is set to use the acquisition via its Shield Group subsidiary to grow its presence in the UK market.

ALcontrol was advised on the disposal by a team of lawyers from DLA Piper’s Sheffield office. Shield Group was advised by the Nottingham office of Eversheds.
