Chamber event to provide export advice

THE Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is offering SMEs across the county the chance to obtain valuable advice and support on growing their businesses through international trade at a special event this Friday.

Free to attend, the Exporting for Growth event will be held at the Telford Campus of the University of Wolverhampton between 8.30am and 2pm.

Attendees will be provided with information on all aspects of export including strategy, finances, and communication, and will be able to hear about the experiences of leading local businesses.

The event is part of a national campaign set up by the Government last year to increase the number of UK companies that export their goods and services by encouraging collaborative working between the business community, and to persuade influential business advisers from all areas of industry to offer their support.

A number of companies from across Shropshire, the West Midlands, and the UK will be at the event to share their knowledge and experiences within the export world, including Global Freight, Innovation 1st, and Barclays Bank.

Richard Sheehan, managing director of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “This is set to be a fantastic event and I would urge any SME across the county and beyond looking to grow their business internationally to come along and obtain an invaluable insight into just how it’s done.

“There are a large number of key emerging economies across the world that offer significant potential opportunities for businesses to grow their markets aboard, which is becoming ever-more vital in ensuring their growth and future prosperity.”
