Sahara One to sponsor IAB’s annual awards and dinner

PART of India’s largest entertainment conglomerate is to be the official media partner for the silver anniversary of The Institute of Asian Businesses.

Sahara One, which operates three television channels in India, is giving its backing to the IAB’s annual awards and dinner, which takes place at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre on November 17.

The IAB, part of Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group, is celebrating 25 years of supporting and advising Asian business members throughout primarily the Birmingham area.

Nasir Awan, president of the IAB said: “We are delighted to welcome such a major business to help us celebrate a key milestone in our corporate life.  For 25 years we have helped and supported our members to grow their business, create jobs and boost the Midlands economy.  Sahara One Television will help us to record and remember what will be a fantastic occasion for Asian businesses.”

Sahara One Media and Entertainment operates in the film and television sector and has produced over 35 movies in the last two years and produces, markets and distributes motion pictures in Hindi and other Indian languages.
International entrepreneur and CEO of Octavian Securit,  Sukhi Ghuman, is to be the  guest speaker at the dinner.  

Compering the event will be actor and comedian, Kulvinder Ghir, star of television show Goodness Gracious Me and the hit film Bend it Like Beckham.

The event will also include four awards: Business/Business Person of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to Society, Young Entrepreneur of the Year and International Business of the Year.  A charity prize draw will take place in aid of Cure Leukaemia and KPMG is sponsoring a drinks reception at the dinner.
