Aldridge firm Maloney Metalcraft secures £2m order for Avingtrans

ALDRIDGE-based Maloney Metalcraft, part of the Avingtrans group of companies, has secured a new contract for the energy sector which is set to be worth more than £2m for the business.
Maloney, formerly Exterran UK, was rescued by Avingtrans earlier this year when the engineering group bought the business for a token £1 in a deal which saved the jobs of 85 people.
The Westgate-based factory designs, fabricates and installs products for the global oil and gas market, including equipment solutions for petroleum production, gas processing, produced water treatment and aftermarket parts and services.
Avingtrans is amalgamating the business into its Energy and Medical division and its key customers include: Petrofac, Talisman, Porvair, EDF and Shell.
The new contract win is the second to be awarded by Porvair and involves the manufacture and supply of Pulse Jet Filter Pipe Clusters. The contract is expected to generate more than £2m of revenue and runs to the end of September 2014.
Steve McQuillan, chief executive of Avingtrans, said: “We are very pleased to see a second significant order for Maloney Metalcraft since joining the Avingtrans Group in July. It further illustrates the pedigree of the business and its strength in the marketplace.
“The board is confident that Maloney Metalcraft will continue to positively contribute to the group and provide increased scale and expertise to Avingtrans’ operations in the attractive energy marketplace.”
