CAD-CAM takes over the running of Stadco’s Coventry operation

VEHICLE parts manufacturer Stadco’s Coventry facility is to be taken over by CAD-CAM Automotive as part of its expansion plans.
Stadco is a supplier of automotive body-in-white products and services. Its Coventry site currently undertakes low-volume production and prototype manufacturing for the automotive industry.
Stadco says it has made the strategic decision to focus its business on mainstream serial production. CAD-CAM Automotive is primarily focused on the design and manufacture of low-volume and prototype press tools for the motor industry.
The business will trade as CAD-CAM Automotive and will operate out of the Holbrook Lane site.
No monetary value has been put on the deal.
Paul Jaggers, Stadco’s product development director, said: “Both Stadco Coventry and CAD-CAM occupy strong positions in the automotive supply chain and bringing the strengths of these two businesses together is great news for the UK motor industry.
“We are very confident that the new business provides a breadth and depth of capability, which will be a great benefit to our customers, and is able to take advantage of the significant opportunities in the automotive sector.”
Martyn Wheeler, director of CAM-CAM who will head up the new operation added: “We are not only aiming to maintain the current strength of the low-volume and prototyping business, but have a roadmap for significant positive future growth.
“The new business will be a key supplier to UK automotive manufacturers.”
