Catering Academy maintains appetite for growth

STAFFORDSHIRE registered contract catering company, Catering Academy, is continuing its expansion strategy with plans to open 16 new contracts, effectively boosting annual turnover by £18m over the next three years.

With £5m worth of business already secured in the first half of 2013, this additional revenue will drive the firm towards an annual turnover of £35m.

The new contract wins, which are predominantly in the education sector, include Cambridge Regional College, Kingston Maurward College, Reading College and four brand new academy schools.

Kevin Cannon, the firm’s founder and director, said: “Catering Academy has been able to consistently innovate and drive competitive solutions without compromising on the quality of our products, service and local support structures.

“The appointment of a new national craft team, which is headed up by our company executive chef Mark Owen, has added significantly to our fresh food offer and innovative menu compilation, driving cost effective food solutions that offer value as well as fantastic tasting food.”

Earlier this year the firm finalised its senior management team with the appointment of three regional operations directors – Clare Flanagan, North, Kevin Green, Midlands and Lesley Pekun, South.  With local offices and resources, the regional teams are tasked with enhancing the firm’s service to clients.

“Catering Academy has continually invested in its infrastructure to allow us to continue our development whilst steadily evolving our service offering,” added Cannon.

The business currently operates over 140 contracts across the education, B&I and Healthcare sectors, employing 1,500 people nationally.
