Lifestyle: Stratford hotel in rude health after spa named best in UK

A WARWICKSHIRE hotel has landed a top in-house award for the standard of its leisure facilities.

The Alveston Manor Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon has been awarded ‘Leisure Club and Spa of the Year’ at the 2014 Macdonald Hotels & Resorts awards.

The hotel was recognised after consistently outperforming targets, mystery guest reports and for its spa development. It fended off competition from 24 other Macdonald Hotels and Resorts around the UK.

The four-star hotel’s Vital Health & Wellbeing Club and Spa has a range of fitness facilities which were recently upgraded as part of a significant hotel refurbishment and now include a Technogym, 18-metre heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room.

Sam Aziz, general manager of the hotel, said: “This award win is an absolute credit to the leisure and spa team, who work tirelessly and consistently perform to ensure our members and guests receive the best possible customer service in a relaxing and reviving environment.

“We have recently invested a significant amount on our new state of the art gym facilities and it is fantastic to receive this award as a result of our hard work.”

The hotel recently celebrated being named AA Hotel Group of the Year 2013/2014 and was awarded Business of the Year at the Pride of Stratford Awards 2014.
