Cyber Skills Centre teams up with G4S for new security workshops

THE Worcestershire-based National Cyber Skills Centre has teamed up with security group G4S to offer a series of ‘Cyber Aware Workshops’ at its base at the Malvern Hills Science Park.
The NCSC said the work with subsidiary G4S Risk Management’s Specialist Training Division cemented the Malvern facility as a hub for cyber security.
Starting in September, the STD will run all of its open courses through the NCSC. The workshops will provide an introduction to a number of cyber security issues across a range of industries, and are supported by employer body e-skills UK, its latest training provider.
Tim Grieveson, Chief Information Officer, G4S Risk Management, said: “The training combines both physical and electronic cyber security testing, all tailored to an organisation’s specific needs.
“This training will help to ensure that any organisation’s critical assets are identified, classified and valued so they are better prepared to defend them from on-line adversaries and cyber criminals.”
The partnership follows another coup for the NCSC, in which InfoSec Skills announced it was moving its flagship Practitioner Certificate in Information Assurance Architecture (PCiIAA) course from Manchester to the Malvern-based centre.
Debbie Tunstall, NCSC centre manager, said: “We are thrilled to add the G4S Specialist Training Division to our list of professional training providers, cementing the centre’s status as a hub of cyber excellence. We hope that G4S’international reputation will serve to promote the centre to a global audience.”
