Shortlists announced for RICS West Midlands Awards

THE shortlist for this year’s RICS West Midlands Awards has been announced.
Birmingham Airport’s runway extension, Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, St George’s CE Primary School and Nursery in Kidderminster, Aston Student Villages and the Barclaycard Arena make up some of the projects competing across the region.
Eight category winners and a project of the year will be selected from the 32 shortlisted projects to the awards. The winners from four of the categories will then be invited to represent The West Midlands and compete against projects from across the rest of the UK, at the overall RICS Awards in London.
The 2014 West Midlands Project of the Year title went to the Library of Birmingham.
Victoria Hampson, acting director RICS North and Midlands, said: “The quality of entries received this year is truly outstanding and clearly demonstrates the fantastic work being carried out by property professionals.
“There is a wealth and variety of inspirational new projects and regenerated developments and I am sure it will be a challenging judging process.”
Judging for the awards will take place during the Spring with the RICS West Midlands Awards ceremony being held at Birmingham Town Hall on Thursday 21 May, hosted by TV presenter and property expert own Phil Spencer.
The RICS West Midlands Awards 2015 showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the environment, celebrating the achievements of professionals working in both the built and natural environment.
