New restaurant set for Trentham Estate
CONSTRUCTION has started on a new restaurant at Trentham Estate in Stoke-on-Trent .
It will trade as Joe’s Kitchen, a new brand by The Restaurant Group, one of the UK’s largest restaurant groups.
It already operates Trentham’s Frankie and Benny’s restaurant and other well-known brands include Chiquitos, Coast to Coast and Garfunkel’s.
The Restaurant Group will lease the new 4,000 sq ft restaurant on completion of the building.
Joe’s Kitchen is described as a “fun, welcoming and casual restaurant which takes inspiration from London’s Borough Market, to create great tasting, fresh food, cooked by people who care”.
The new restaurant will be situated in a high profile location at the main entrance to the site, which is owned by Birmingham-based developer St Modwen.
Jonny Buckle, head of acquisitions and leisure for The Restaurant Group, said: “Trentham Estate is a thriving tourist and leisure destination and following the success of our Frankie and Benny’s restaurant, it provides the perfect location for us to add an additional unit.”
Joe’s Kitchen is due to open in time for Christmas. Around 50 new full and part time jobs will be created.
Michelin star restaurant Adam’s to meet its Waterloo
MICHELIN-starred restaurant Adam’s is set to move to a new location in central Birmingham.
The up-market eatery, run by celebrated chef Adam Stokes, is currently based in Bennett’s Hill but that was always intended to be a temporary home while it searched for a permanent base.
It had been linked with a move to The Grand hotel in Colmore Row, which is being refurbished, but instead it is relocating to New Oxford House in Waterloo Street.
The move is dependent on getting planning approval for a change of usage for the building from Birmingham City Council.
Adam’s holds a Michelin star and three AA rosettes. It is one of four Michelin-starred restaurants in the city, the others being Purnell’s, Simpsons and Turners.
The new Adam’s restaurant will boast more dining space as well as a chef’s table, open kitchen, glazed wine room and a development kitchen.
Another new restaurant, Nosh & Quaff, is due to open around the corner from Waterloo Street at 130 Colmore Row. It is being established by the Lasan Group which already owns and runs a number of eateries in the city.
