KPMG suggests buying Boxwood could benefit Midlands mid-market firms

KPMG is suggesting that its acquisition of London management consultancy Boxwood will help it to provide an enhanced management consultancy service to Midlands firms.

The accountancy and advisory firm – whose Midlands base is at One Snowhill in Birmingham – says the acquisition of Boxwood – for an undisclosed sum – will strengthen its existing management consultancy offering to the middle market, at a time when the mid-tier is particularly active and companies are increasingly driving growth agendas.

Boxwood’s focus will be on KPMG’s regions, which means the Midlands practice will be able to benefit directly from the expertise within its management consultancy service.

Boxwood works with ambitious CEOs and their teams to deliver “complex transformation programmes that drive profitable growth”.

The company has more than ten years’ expertise in the design and delivery of new business and operating models across a range of sectors including retail and consumer, infrastructure, TMT (telecoms, media and technology) private equity and life sciences.

Nick Harrison, head of management consultancy for KPMG Midlands, said: “This is a truly significant deal for KPMG as we seek to expand and enhance the range of consultancy services we provide, particularly to middle-market companies in the Midlands.

“Boxwood’s straightforward and hands-on approach to projects ensures that it consistently drives growth, improves profitability and unlocks value for its clients.

“Additionally, its track-record in providing post-deal transformation advice, particularly to private equity firms and their portfolio companies, complements our existing integration advisory offering – something that is increasingly in demand as the M&A market continues to improve.”
