Head of project management appointed by Rider Levett Bucknall
ADAM Ellis-Morgan has been appointed the new head of project management for Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB)’s Midlands division.
Based in Birmingham, he will be responsible for expanding RLB’s portfolio of project management work and the delivery of projects from inception to final handover.
His remit also includes contributing to the cost and property consultant’s recently launched growth strategy. It plans to increase revenue and staff by 2020 to become a circa £70m-turnover, 600-strong business.
Ellis-Morgan’s previous experience includes being a director at Virtus Consult where he gained specific education and healthcare expertise, including the £180m capital development plan for the Heart of England Foundation Trust.
Before this he spent ten years with Capita and was part of the team that delivered the construction of the £182m New Library of Birmingham.

He has worked on an impressive portfolio of multi-site commercial, retail, leisure, education and healthcare capital projects, of over £150m worldwide, covering private, public and PPP/PFI sectors.

Harris Lamb strengthens its recovery position
CONSULTANCY Harris Lamb has appointed Suzi Marshall to its recoveries and receivership team.
Having spent the last 18 months at TSR in Shropshire, specialising in valuation, agency and management work, Marshall’s extensive experience in the recoveries sector will provide Harris Lamb with additional strength in this field.
She headed up the recoveries team at Savills in Telford prior to joining TSR.

New recruits at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff
WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in Birmingham has made a number of new appointments, three at senior level.
Richard Thomas has been appointed by the consultancy as technical director, and Errol Tan as associate director, both to the development team while Neil Duffy has been appointed associate director to the building services team.
Together they bring more than 75 years’ experience to the organisation.
Thomas is a transport planner and civil engineer with 26 years’ experience across both the public and private sectors. His recent expertise includes cycling infrastructure, retail development planning and construction traffic management, and he has worked on projects in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, the Middle East and Africa.
He said: “I am looking forward to applying my experience to the Birmingham office, learning from the teams and helping the business take advantage of the growing Birmingham property market as well as our increasing national and international opportunities, in line with our UK and regional growth strategy.”
Tan is a civil engineer and transport planner, specialising in multimodal passenger transport systems including rail, tram and bus systems. During his 17-year career hel has worked on schemes in most of Western and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, North America and Latin America, as well as on prestigious UK projects such as HS2.
Duffy has extensive experience in sport, rail and healthcare, having been in the industry for 30 years and working on projects including Wembley Stadium and the London 2012 Velodrome.
DBK announces new building surveying director
PROPERTY consultant DBK has appointed Alexa Cotterell as director to help spearhead the growth of the Birmingham firm’s building surveying services in the Midlands and the north.
Cotterell has more than 20 years’ experience in the property and construction sector both at a regional and national level.
Experienced in both the commercial and public sectors, she has worked on all aspects of building surveying, specialising in dilapidations and landlord and tenant matters.
Cotterell will support Mike Sutton, director of DBK and head of building consultancy for the Midlands and the north.
