US flights from Birmingham cancelled after record snowfalls

PEOPLE planning on flying to New York from Birmingham were today advised by the airport to check their flight operators and travel arrangements after services to the East Coast of the United States were cancelled due to the severe weather blighting the region.

Major cities along the East Coast of the US have been severely impacted by record snowfalls as a result of winter storm Jonas.

New York and Washington have been badly affected and transport services have been severely disrupted.

Flights from Birmingham to New York’s JFK and Newark airports were both cancelled today and further disruption could be possible in the days ahead.
