Prologis cracks on with new business park near Lichfield

BIG ‘shed’ developer Prologis and a joint venture partner have started work on a new business park near Lichfield.

It suggests the development at Fradley Park on the A38 could create up to 1,000 jobs.

The firm has joined forces with Wittington Investments (Developments) and is starting infrastructure work at Prologis Park Fradley.

Located beside the established industrial area of Fradley Park, the new 44.77 acre development has planning permission for a total of 890,000 sq ft in buildings ranging from 111,405 to 687,987.

Each unit will be designed and constructed to achieve a minimum BREEAM ‘very good’ accreditation and the best EPC rating possible for its size.

Given its location close to a number of motorways and ‘A’ roads in the middle of the country, the scheme might be expected to appeal to large retailers and manufacturers and the distribution firms which service them.

Andrew Griffiths, managing director of Prologis UK – which has it base in Solihull – said: “We focus on providing the best opportunities in the market for our customers, so we are delighted that work is starting at Prologis Park Fradley.

“There are very few industrial sites with planning permission in the West Midlands, so we are already seeing a high level of interest in the new park from companies, each of which could bring hundreds of new jobs to the area.”

JLL, Harris Lamb and Savills are acting for Prologis and Wittington.
