Logistics group continues to deliver the goods

MIDLANDS technology logistics firm, UTL, has received a major boost to its business with a trio of contract extensions.
The Nuneaton-based company supplies logistics, repair, returns, distribution and field services to a number of technology and retail customers, including Vodafone, Three, Sky, Virgin, Waterstones, Sainsbury’s and Kimberly-Clark.
Vodafone, which has collaborated with the business for the past 16 years, has renewed its agreement for a further three years.
The deal sees UTL provide forward logistics and distribution services exclusively in the UK, distributing to retail stores, online, enterprise, and consumer customers.
Fellow telecoms group Three has renewed its contract for forward logistics, kitting, and distribution services until 2019. On behalf of Three, UTL will be distributing all products to retail stores, online, and customers at home.
UTL has delivered the group’s products since its launch in 2003.
Finally, Sky, which has been working with the Nuneaton company since 2004, has also renewed its contract for a further three years. UTL will provide forward logistics, distribution, returns, and recycling services, along with fleet and field management for their network of engineers.
Claire Walters, managing director at UTL, said: “UTL is a strong business with a clear strategy to deliver growth and enter new market sectors. We are investing in launching new services that drive real value for the end consumer.
“The market continues to change rapidly. Innovative digital solutions are providing increased opportunities for UTL to develop and expand. For instance, although in 12 months’ time UTL will no longer carry out repair work for Vodafone, all our people currently working in this area will have opportunities to transfer to other parts of our business which continue to grow.”
