Reusable medical plastics manufacturer sold to Swedish investment company

Warwick SASCo, a manufacturer of reusable medical plastics, has been sold to Sweden’s Karnell Group.

Founded in 1981 by Dereck Booth in Warwick and managed more recently by his children, Darby and Alex, the company has built a reputation for supplying medical polyware to hospitals, distributors, and care homes in over 75 countries.

The sale was secured by Knights’ team of advisors, led by corporate partner Tim Edwards, on behalf of the Booth family.

Karnell, based in Stockholm, has a portfolio of industrial technology companies across Sweden, Finland, and the UK, and is known for supporting family-owned businesses with long-term investments aimed at driving growth.

Darby Booth, managing director at Warwick SASCo said: “We sell to our customers in the UK and over 75 export markets daily, but when it came to selling the company, it is quite a different story. We are so pleased that the Knights team took control of the process with the buyers’ team to a very successful outcome.

“Throughout Knights had us, the client, as their key focus. Over a relatively short period, they explained and interpreted the acquisition journey, fighting for our best interests, and they professionally managed our company’s acquisition, showing diligence and expertise. I wholly recommend Knights as a trusted partner and legal representative. Hats off to Tim and his brilliant team for a very well-done job.”

Alongside legal advisors at Knights, Warwick SASCo were advised by Harrison Beale & Owen, chartered accountants (HB&O) and Horizon Corporate Finance.

Tim Edwards, corporate partner at Knights said: “It was a real pleasure to have worked with Darby, Alex and the team at Warwick SASCo to deliver this transaction. I have no doubt the sale to Karnell Group will allow for the long-term success of both businesses, and I look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength in partnership.”
