Accountants agree practice transfer deal

WORCESTER accountants and tax advisors Rabjohns has agreed a practice transfer deal with Birmingham-based Reg Fort Chartered Accountant.

The deal, which took effect at the start of the year, came about following the retirement of Mr Fort at the end of 2010.

Mr Fort started out as an articled clerk in Birmingham in 1954 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1959.

After a spell with Peat Marwick Mitchell in Central Africa, he spent several decades as a partner in an independent practice in Birmingham and has gained experience of acting as a non-executive director for a listed company.

Mr Fort then set up his own practice with clients based in Birmingham and the South Midlands.

Having made his decision to retire as a chartered accountant, Mr Fort contacted Rabjohns having used their technical resources in his own practice for some time.

Managing partner at Rabjohns Ian Smith said: “We are delighted to have agreed a deal to look after Reg’s interesting portfolio of clients.

“They have been used to very personal service with great depth of experience and that is what we will continue to provide to them.”

Mr Fort added: “I am really pleased to have given my clients the chance of benefiting from Rabjohns’ highly regarded levels of expertise and service.”
