Tipton & Coseley recognised for staff training standard

THE Tipton & Coseley Building Society has been recognised for quality of staff training with the award of its sixth consecutive re-accreditation to the ‘Investor in People’ standard.

Investors in People, which launched in 1991, is a national standard which sets out a level of good practice for training and development of staff. Companies are invited to apply for re-accreditation every three years.

The Tipton was initially accredited in 1996 and its evolutionary staff training programme has ensured compliance for each successive period.

The latest award sees the Tipton joining a select but growing group of more than 3,000 organisations who have achieved successive Investors in People reviews for a decade or more. The organisations includes businesses of all sizes and sectors.

Chris Martin, the Tipton’s chief executive, said: “To keep this prestigious award, staff have to undergo regular assessments to ensure proficient training programmes are being delivered and is the result of the hard work and effort of everyone at the Tipton.

“This recent achievement demonstrates our ongoing dedication to people and a commitment to continuous business improvement.”

Sarah Breeze, branches and training controller at The Tipton, was responsible for overseeing the re-accreditation process. She added: “To receive re-accreditation for the sixth consecutive time is a great achievement and something every member of staff should feel extremely proud of.”
