FTSE traders uncertain after mixed bag overnight

PRE-OPEN REPORT: The new week starts uncertainly after strong overnight gains in Japan and Australia but with a weak market in China and falls in Hong Kong.
There will be much interest in airline shares with the first day of trading in the International Airlines Group, formed out of the merger of British Airways and the Spanish airline Iberia, and worries over easyJet which lost over 16% of its value on Friday.
In America before the weekend, the Dow was up 49 at 11,872 and the S&P rose just three to 1,283. The Nasdaq Composite fell 15 to 2,690.
Overnight the Nikkei was up 67 at 10,341 and the Hang Seng was down 81 at 23,796.
Gold is slightly up and trading at £842.01 an ounce and crude oil is also up at £56.07 a barrel.
There are a number of key manufacturing and industrial statistics being announced in the EU this morning.
Final results are due from JSC Bank of Georgia and Image Sun Holdings while Diamond Circle Capital hold its AGM.
