HB&O to oversee forensic accountancy network

A TEAM of West Midlands financial experts has been appointed as regional representatives in the specialised field of forensic accounting.

Harrison Beale and Owen, which has offices in Coventry and Leamington, will represent Coventry, Birmingham, Nuneaton and Hinckley as part of the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants.

Forensic accounting involves detailed analysis of accounting records and investigation into financial practices which can then be used as evidence in court proceedings or to assist in legal disputes.

It can be applied to subjects including share valuations, personal injury claims, contractual disputes and tax investigations.

NIFA was launched in 1999 by a group of independent chartered accountancy practices.

Its aim is to pool knowledge and resources in independent firms to create a network providing solicitors and insurers with cost effective forensic accountancy services.

Phil Ewing, director at Harrison Beale and Owen, said: “It is a great privilege to be the region’s representative in this highly-specialised field.

“We have expertise in a wide range of commercial, financial and taxation issues and our team is well placed to provide prompt, accurate and independent assistance.”
