KPMG strenghtens Birmingham team at expense of rival

BUSINESS advisor KPMG has strengthened its Birmingham operation with the recruitment of Brian Ashmead-Siers to its International Executive Services team.
Mr Ashmead-Siers, who joins as director, was formerly with Ernst & Young in Birmingham. He has more than 10 years’ experience helping businesses in the area to manage their globally mobile workforces.
His appointment brings KPMG’s local team to seven people and the firm said it had plans to expand the team further in the coming months.
Simon Jonsson, head of tax at KPMG in the Midlands said: “Brian has been working with major organisations from across the region and throughout Europe, helping them to develop efficient processes and structures that enable them to manage their international workforces.
“His expertise will help to further strengthen and develop the local team in delivering exceptional service to our clients.”
Commenting upon his new role, Mr Ashmead-Siers said: “Local businesses continue to play a crucial role in international commerce and the mobility of their workforce is an important factor.
“Managing jurisdictional differences is becoming increasingly complex and if organisations get it wrong, it can prove costly. I am very excited by the opportunities at KPMG and working across the practice to deliver real value to our clients.”
