University courts businesses for new conference facilities

BUSINESSES are being courted by the University of Wolverhampton as it seeks to promote new conferencing facilities at its Telford campus.

Representatives from local businesses together with training and event groups are being invited to tour the new facilities during an open event on Tuesday March 1.

The university has refurbished and equipped nine rooms at the SC Building Conference Centre for conferencing use. The facilities include an IT Suite, a conference delegate guest lounge and a spacious exhibition and event catering area.

Guests at the open event will be welcomed by Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Enterprise, Professor Ian Oakes, and will be invited to watch a presentation about the facilities.

Guests will be taken on tours of the facilities as well as existing facilities in Priorslee Hall. There will be an opportunity to look around the business incubation units in the e-Innovation Centre (e-IC) and the non-student campus en-suite accommodation.

Suzie Mellors, meetings and events co-ordinator, conference department, said:  “We are really excited to be launching these new conference rooms at the Telford Campus which are a welcome addition to our existing facilities.

“We also have hundreds of en-suite conference bedrooms so we can organise a wide range of events. We welcome people to come and have a look around.”

There will also be a complimentary lunch and exhibitions by local businesses, networking groups and other organisations.
