Budget 2011: Take part in our survey with RSM Tenon

BELEAGUERED retailers and manufacturers have called on Chancellor George Osborne to use his forthcoming Budget to introduce measures to bolster their sectors as they look to recover from recession.
Manufacturing body the EEF has urged the Chancellor to consider measures which will boost investment and innovation and help to keep the cost of British goods competitive abroad.
Meanwhile, the British Retailers Consortium (BRC) has urged Mr Osborne to offer support as the sector battles to overcome declining growth and rising VAT.
So what will Mr Osborne do – and will the West Midlands business community be pleased?

TheBusinessDesk.com, in association with leading accountants RSM Tenon, has launched its Pre-Budget Survey to offer the region’s business leaders the chance to speculate on what the Chancellor may do when he stands up in the Commons on March 23.
The survey will help to gauge business sentiment in the region and provide a vital indicator to the direction the West Midlands economy will take in 2011.
Small firms are complaining the high cost of fuel is crippling their business, while analysts fear the political upheaval taking place in northern Africa threatens to destabilise the region and have a knock-on effect for the price of oil.
Therefore, with inflationary pressures already high, is the country in danger of heading into a double-dip recession unless action is taken now?
There have been calls for the Chancellor to keep in check rising inflation but what measures will he put in place to support entrepreneurs and encourage business growth?
Do you foresee an increase in duties, will there be a reduction in the scope for VAT, will fuel duty increase again or will new incentives for green technology be forthcoming?
Your answers matter and knowing how time is precious for those running businesses, we have made the survey quick and simple – it will take you just minutes to complete but will provide an important picture of what the West Midland business community thinks about the Budget and its likely impact on them.
