TC Group swoops for Haines Watts Tamworth

David Kaplan

Accountancy firm TC Group has acquired Haines Watts Tamworth, with the entire Haines Watts team transferring over to the rebranded firm.

The merger expands TC Group’s presence in the Midlands, marking its third acquisition in March.

David Kaplan, corporate partner at Rothera Bray, led the deal, supported by Liz Mills, Liam Wicks, Catherine Angrave, and Rachel Mills.

This follows the integration of Haines Watts’ Derby, Nottingham, and Leicester offices into TC Group, completed just a week earlier.

The Tamworth office will continue as an accountancy practice under TC Group.

Darren Barlow, partner at TC Group Tamworth said: “Working with David and the Rothera Bray team has been an exceptional experience. Their expertise and dedication were instrumental in navigating the complexities of this merger. The team’s proactive approach and seamless coordination ensured that we achieved our desired outcome within the tight timeframe. We are thrilled with the successful completion of this strategic merger and look forward to continuing our partnership with TC Group.”

David Kaplan, corporate partner at Rothera Bray said: “It was a pleasure working with Darren and his fellow partners. This was our second transaction with TC Group in a period of a week, which came at a very busy period before the tax changes in the new financial year. The target completion date was set at the outset of the transaction, and all parties worked tirelessly to ensure that this deadline was met.

“TC Group are a great fit for the Haines Watts Tamworth team, and the Tamworth office will continue to be a leading accountancy practice in Tamworth now with the added benefit of being part of the TC Group. I would like to thank Mike Pearce and his team at DAC Beachcroft, who advised TC Group, for their assistance and hard work to ensure that the timetable was met.”
