Toor Wholesale makes its move

A BIRMINGHAM-based family business has expanded after acquiring new premises.
Toor Wholesale, which supplies a range of foods to supermarkets from its base at John Watts Farms, has bought a neighbouring property in Handsworth after securing a commercial mortgage.
The company is planning to open a larger retail outlet to expand its range of products and services.
Director Harbans Toor said: “The shop next door became available and immediately attracted a lot of interest, so I needed to move quickly and received no support from several high street banks who would not commit to a quick completion.
“I contacted Crystal Mortgages who provided both the speed and level of support that was required to secure this wonderful opportunity, and I am now able to concentrate on extending the business and increasing profits.”
Roger Dewsbery, senior underwriter at Walsall-based commercial finance specialists Crystal Mortgages, who oversaw the deal, added: “We are delighted to have been able to support a thriving local business in what is a difficult market.
“Ever increasing turnaround times are leaving small businesses frustrated and struggling. It is vital to move quickly to ensure a positive conclusion.”
