Recruitment companies set for shake-up says new Katie Bard head

RECRUITMENT companies are preparing for a major shake-up to the way they operate according to the new head of a leading firm based in the West Midlands.
Julie Fouad, chief operating officer of Katie Bard’s Midlands operation – part of the international Angela Mortimer Group, said the Agency Workers Regulations would have a significant impact on the way companies recruit when the legislation comes into force in October.
The new regulations will entitle agency workers to equal treatment on basic employment conditions after 12 calendar weeks in a job, including pay and holidays.
Ms Fouad, who joined Katie Bard’s Birmingham office as brand development director in February 2009 having started her career in the recruitment industry in 1986, said: “The new Agency Workers Regulations will have a significant impact on the way in which companies recruit and it will be even more important to identify and work with a recruitment partner to implement the right strategies to maintain productivity and growth.”
John Mortimer, chief executive of the Angela Mortimer Group which is made up of 19 recruitment businesses across the UK and Europe, said Ms Fouad was set to play an important role in the group’s expansion plans.
“Julie has a wealth of leadership and recruitment experience and a strong track record of working with organisations of all sizes from start-ups through to blue chip corporates. She will play a major role leading Katie Bard’s ambitious growth plans across the Midlands in her new position,” he said.
