Balfour Beatty shifts staff to Solihull

THE northern area of national engineering and construction company Balfour Beatty is moving its staff to Solihull.
Balfour Beatty Construction Northern has taken 4,305 sq ft of office space at Blythe Valley Park, saying it wants to “offer an improved working environment” for staff and have better access to other parts of the country.
It is currently based in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham and the move is expected to be completed during to the summer into Cornwall House, which is managed by Liberty Property Trust UK in partnership with Doughty Hanson and Co Real Estate.
The switch also means staff will be close to Balfour Beatty Engineering Services, which already has a base at the park.
Rob Lane, of Balfour Beatty Construction, said: “We have been looking at Blythe Valley for some time.
“It’s a great location, perfect for access to anywhere in the country. It makes sense to be closer to another Balfour Beatty company.”
Kate Smith, of Liberty Property Trust, added: “We are home to a range of major international engineering and construction firms and organisations from BAM to Arup and Scott Wilson as well as small and medium sized companies.
“We have seen a rise in enquiries for space here at Blythe Valley and we are very hopeful that this will be first of a series of new companies coming to the park.”
