Fracino brews up third straight year of double digit growth

BIRMINGHAM coffee machine manufacturer Fracino is continuing to reap the dividends of Britain’s expanding café culture, posting its third consecutive year of double digit growth.
The Aston firm is the UK’s only manufacturer of cappuccino and espresso machines, which it supplies to customers including Patisserie Valerie, Druckers coffee shops, Pathfinder pub chains and Greene King.
Launched from founder Frank Maxwell’s garden shed 47 years ago, the family-run business now sells more than 3,000 coffee machines annually.
The last year has seen the firm double the size of its manufacturing facility and increase its workforce by 20% to cope with a demand that now sees the firm’s machines exported to every continent.
Fracino’s new property, adjacent to its current premises, reflects the company’s £250,000 investment in sheet metal and form bending machines which enables it to manufacture more components in-house. Its distributor base has expanded to 700 outlets as demand for its products continues to grow.
Fracino managing director, Adrian Maxwell who joined the firm in 1986, said: “Our year-end sales are a real credit to the hard work and dedication of our team. It’s not just our UK sales that have increased; we’ve also extended our exporting reach to 15 new countries in the last 12 months.
“The company continues to power from strength to strength and we look forward to seeing what this next year will bring.”
