Easter events in Birmingham to take the kids along to

Just five minutes ago we were getting ready for Christmas and now it is Easter half term! We know these things creep up on you, so we wanted to help you get the kids out of the house over their time off from school. Because, lets face it, being told that they are bored is no way to spend a day…

Birmingham Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens are putting on a whole range of activities that the kids are bound to love over Easter half term. There will be ‘Art from Nature’ days where kids will be encouraged to create their own work of art from natural materials. The venue will also offer opportunities to meet the animals at the gardens, from snails and snakes to frogs and stick insects. On Easter Sunday, the venue will host an Easter egg hunt, chocolate workshops, facepainting and games to get involved in. Find out more here.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Cadbury World
Cadbury World will be hosting a range of events between April 14 and April 17 in celebration of all things chocolate. The kids will be able to take part in daily bonnet competitions, where they will be able to get crafty and creative before joining in a massive Easter egg hunt all around the grounds of the attraction in Bourneville. Mr Bloom’s Nursery Live
If the kids are big fans of Mr Bloom, they will love this event taking place at the New Alexandra Theatre on April 19. Mr Bloom and the Veggies will bring their first ever live tour to the venue. The show will see Mr Bloom getting ready for a very special occasion, but the audience need to help him get his allotment ready in time. Along with all of his gardening fans, the show is set to be full of fun and music. Find out more here.

Weoley Castle Egg Hunt
Head along to the remains of Weoley Castle on April 23 for their St. George and the Dragon Egg Hunt event. Dragons have been nesting at the castle and it is the kids mission to help St. George hunt down the dragon eggs that have been laid in the grounds. At the end of the hunt, the kids will be able to collect their prize. Find out more here.

Disney On Ice
Disney On Ice are celebrating 100 Years of Magic at Birmingham’s Genting Arena from April 12 – 16. Over 50 Disney characters are set to skate onto the rink, including Mickey and Minnie, Goody and Disney princesses Cinderella, Ariel and Snow White. The kids will also be able to sing along to Frozen, Toy Story, The Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. Find out more here.

Cadbury Egg Hunts
Cadbury are hosting egg hunts at National Trust locations across the UK over Easter. However, there will be plenty of clues and fun to have along the way on the egg hunts, which will also give you all the opportunity to discover the buildings and grounds themselves. In the West Midlands, you can go along to egg hunts at Clent Hills, Wightwick Manor, Packwood House and Coughton Court, as well as a handful of others. Find out more here.

Easter Fayre
The Custard Factory in Digbeth will be hosting an Easter Fayre on Saturday April 15. Taking place from 11am-5pm, the fair will offer a range of activities to get involved in, including an egg hunt, face painting, cupcake decorating and a chance for the kids to grow their own plants. There will also be craft stalls, family films to watch at The Mockingbird Cinema, live entertainment and a pop up gin bar for the adults. Find out more here.

Cinderella Family Story
Head along to Aston Hall to take part in the Cinderella Family Story on April 12. Taking place at 11am and 1pm, the event will give an interactive telling of Cinderella to the kids, where they will be able to meet Cinders herself, help her out in the kitchen and get her to Prince Charming’s Ball. The kids will also be able to try on Cinderella’s glass slipper and the chance to make their own magic wand. Find out more here.
